TOEFL at Alfaisal International Academy More than Great Scores— Great English |
Overview:
The TOEFL Preparation Program is mainly designed to meet the increasing need for non-native students in the Kingdom who are intending to do their high studies abroad. |
|
 |
Our TOEFL preparation courses at Alfaisal International Academy are structured to meet the requirements of Next Generation TOEFL®iBT (internet based test), which emphasizes integrated skills and the ability to use and understand English as it is spoken, written and heard in a college or university setting. Our courses are based on the most up-to date information available on the TOEFL®iBT. Trainees prepare for the test in class and in our computer room using TOEFL preparation software.
Candidates and Tests:
- Those who are willing to take the TOEFL IBT Test have their own free will to take it without undergoing any prior training courses.
- Those who would like to take training courses to prepare themselves for the test will have to go through the following stages:
- Take the placement test that the Academy administers for the General Diploma students in order to see in which level they fit in our eleven-level Diploma.
- If the candidate's level is below level (11), he will have to take as many levels as he needs to reach the level (11) and then take another placement test called TOEFL Pre-- - Diagnostic Test that has been designed by a special committee comprising five experienced ESL instructors in our ESL Dept.
- If the candidate's level is already equal or above level (11), he can take the TOEFL Pre-Diagnostic Test right away.
- The Pre-Diagnostic Test decides what skills the candidate is weak at, and what areas he still needs some training at.

| What to Expect on the Test ? |
|
|
The TOEFL Internet-based test (TOEFL iBT) tests all four language skills that are important for effective communication: speaking, listening, reading, and writing. The test helps students demonstrate that they have the English skills needed for success. TOEFL iBT also emphasizes integrated skills and provides better information to institutions about students' ability to communicate in an academic setting and their readiness for academic coursework. |
Before Starting:
Alfaisal International Academy requires applicants to gain a useful insight into the iBT version of the TOEFL before beginning preparation courses. Our orientation class is a vital start to your preparation, using multimedia to give you a complete understanding of the TOEFL iBT overview.
Our Diagnostic TOEFL iBT test measures your English proficiency and helps us place you in a classroom designed to meet your needs. Applicants who are not able to produce advance results will not be emitted into the preparation course, but referred to our short intensive English program.
What to Expect in the Classroom ? ALFAC's TOEFL®iBT (Internet Based Test) preparation program is a twelve week course. Each month is a test-specific module, including computer based simulation exercises designed around the actual TOEFL®iBT.
Instructors will lead you through each module using a textbook and adapting the material to best fit the needs of the class. Students will have the opportunity to practice and thoroughly discuss each of the four language areas: Reading, Listening, Writing, and Speaking are discussed thoroughly. This structure allows ALFAC students to develop TOEFL skills in a supportive, yet challenging environment.
Instructors:
ALFAC's instructors are devoted professionals with extensive experience teaching TOEFL® iBT preparation. Their creative insight is used to adapt lessons from the text in a manner that is easy to comprehend. You will benefit from their guidance in the classroom, in workshops, and in tutoring sessions.
Through ALFAC's TOEFL® iBT Test Preparation, students will be able to:
- Increase their test score to a level that is accepted for entrance to most English speaking universities.
- Significantly improve their confidence as a speaker and writer of academic English.
